Happy Valentine’s Day! I feel like most people either love it or hate it… I’m going to bet you already guessed what side I am on! haha I have always loved it! I feel like even when I was single it was still a day that spread LOVE and I will always get behind that, always. Now that I’m married – to a guy who firmly believes V’day is a gimmick by Hallmark Cards, by the way – Valentine’s Day is still a fun opportunity to show the people I love some extra love. Whether that’s a bottle of wine for a friend, a Starbucks card for my mom, a special Valentine’s day treat for Ro, or an extra special date night planned by muah. I just love a day centered around LOVE! #supercheesy #sorrynotsorry
In the spirit of all things love- I thought it would be fun to share a few of Josh and I’s favorite date nights. I always love hearing new date ideas from friends! So, if you are on the hunt for some date night suggestions around North Atlanta (& one you can do anywhere!) – I gotcha covered!

Wine Tasting at Talk of the Table
1 || Dinner + Wine Tasting or Foot Massage
We love to grab dinner at Campania (Alpharetta) or Cherry Street Brewing Co. (Alpharetta – located in Halcyon) & then head to Talk of the Table (Cumming) for a wine tasting. Campania has a kind of dark, romantic atmosphere and our absolute FAVORITE pizza! We usually get the Carciofo pizza but every pizza we have tried there is delicious! You can’t go wrong! Halcyon just opened recently but we quickly fell in love with Cherry Street Brewing Co. (I raved all about it here). We have found ourselves choosing to go there and hang out & grab a drink (Cherry Gose, specifically!) at least a couple date nights a month. Ro also loves the food & Halcyon has an awesome outdoor place for kids to play, right in front of Cherry Street, so it makes for a great kid-friendly dinner night out too.

Family Date Night to Cherry Street at Halcyon
Talk of the Table has been in our go-to date night rotation for years! We always learn something new & we always find a new wine & cheese we love! Insider tip: Buy a chocolate truffle at the check out counter before you leave! They are to die for!
I added foot massage to this date because some nights we grab dinner then go get a 30 or 45 minute foot massage at Sunflower Massage (Cumming). I’m not going to lie, it’s a little strange when you walk in but the foot massages are amazing & the price is unbeatable! Trust me – you both will love it! PS Shout out to Kara, over at Grace & Tacos for opening ours eyes to this local hidden gem!
2 || Downtown Alpharetta Date
Downtown Alpharetta has some delicious places to eat! Josh’s favorite is definitely Smokejack BBQ. It’s very casual & when the weather is nice- you should grab a table on the patio out back. Josh always gets the roasted wings (his absolute favorite!) and I usually get the BBQ chicken with brunswick stew. We just recently went to Citizen Soul and we were blown away! Everything we got was incredible from drinks, to appetizer, to the main courses. We can’t wait to go back to try other things!
When it’s nice out we also love to go to Food Truck Alley, which I think runs from late Spring – early Fall. We grab something to eat & sit outside Truck n Tap and listen to music. Truck n Tap is a fun little place – you can get flights of beer & they always have a really good sour beer option! When the weather is pretty, we also love just to hang out around the green space and play corn hole.
Repping Han Solo & Chewbacca for a Star Wars Date night
3 || Avalon Date (aka basic dinner & movie go-to night)
We usually grab dinner at El Felix, Ted’s, or Kona Grill then head to a movie – the Regal Avalon theatre is our favorite! The seats are so comfy! We also love to grab drinks at the Hotel Avalon bar & just sit in front of the cozy fireplace in the lobby. It has a very chill, yet romantic vibe that we both love. We have gone to Hotel Avalon for our weekend getaways quite a few times and the main lobby/bar area/Starbucks is where we spend most of our time, so it’s a little sentimental for us too. When the weather is good, we also like just grabbing a drink and walking around the Avalon.

4 || Coffee + Book STore Date (extra budget-friendly!)
This is probably one of my favorite date nights, because we started doing this when we first began dating 10 years ago! It kind of just brings me back to those times & I love it. Josh and I are both book lovers, so grabbing a coffee, finding a cozy chair at Barnes & Noble, and just reading speaks to our love languages. Even though we don’t read the same book, we like taking breaks and just chatting about our book or whatever else happens to come across our minds.
5 || Date Night In with Date Your Spouse Box (budget friendly!)
