Happy Friday! I’m super excited for today’s Friday Favorites because I’m sharing 5 of my most worn items throughout the entire year. My hope is that today’s post can help you narrow down some closet essentials you may not have as you start shopping for Spring as well as show you that you don’t have to spend a ton of money on these staple items. I’ll link lots of options for each item type primarily all under $50 and a few over $50 options if that is more in line with your budget. Either way, I hope you walk away today with more ideas on how to style these closet staples or walk away with the confidence in knowing what to buy and add to your closet that you will wear all year long. Let’s get to it!
1 || Denim – Black Skinny, High Rise Skinny, Straight Boyfriend
I’m a jeans girl through and through. 90% of my outfits include jeans so it’s a no-brainer jeans made the list! Jeans are (usually) an investment item for me so some of the options below are over $100 but absolutely worth every penny IMO because a good pair of classic jeans can last you ages! I do include several pairs from Target & Old Navy that I have tried and like too.

2 || Denim Jacket
This is my MOST.WORN.ITEM. and y’all it cost under $50! I have talked about my favorite denim jacket from Old Navy a million times, but it really is so good! My exact jacket is linked in several different wash options as well. A denim jacket can be worn throughout the entire year, which is why this is my most worn (& one of my favorite items in my closet!). The versatility of an item in your closet is so important- no matter your personal style vibe, a denim jacket is an absolute closet staple for it’s versatility.

3 || Leopard Print Sneakers
Okay, these are my next most worn item in my closet! Just like the denim jacket, these babies can be worn all year long! I treat leopard print as a neutral, so it goes with everything. If you like to wear mostly solids, a printed sneaker is a really good closet addition for you. It adds just a little something to a basic outfit, but still keeps it comfy. If you aren’t into the leopard print trend, a neutral snake print or stripe print would work too! Linking several options, including the animal print version of my new white Target espadrille sneakers! They are a whole ‘lotta cuteness!

4 || Black Leggings
No surprise leggings are a major player in my closet. I wear my black leggings at least 2 times a week Spring through Winter. It goes without saying how versatile leggings are & since so many sweaters & tops are tunic length these days- it makes it even easier to get dressed in the morning, with little to no thought process. If you want lots of legging outfit inspo – I wrote a whole post here full of easy outfits with leggings you can wear right now. Linked below are my absolute favorite leggings from Amazon, Athleta, and Zella – whichever pair you choose, you can’t go wrong!

5 || Amazon Hat
Okay, I get it. A hat isn’t for everyone. I honestly was not a hat person at all before this beaut came in to my life last year. Every season I buy a few affordable items that are either out of my comfort zone or very trendy. I don’t spend a lot of money on these items because I know they aren’t going to be staples – they are more fun items if you will. Well I bought this hat as a “comfort zone breaker” & never thought it would become one of my most worn items! I was so wrong! It quickly became a closet staple & I even bought it in multiple colors.
What makes this one stand out from all the other hats I have tried in the past is that it has adjustable string inside to make it fit your head perfectly. It doesn’t ever fall off- not when you bend over, not when you give people hugs, not when you do twirly pics (just me on this one? haha), etc… Not even linking any other hat options, just this one Amazon hat because it comes in a zillion colors & really no other hats compare with this crazy affordable price tag!
Honorable Mention || Red Hunter Boots
My red Hunter boots definitely deserve a mention on this list because a. they are one of my favorite shoes I own & b. I wear them all. year. long. I think it’s important to add that ‘red’ is key with these babies! You may not think red is very versatile right off the bat, BUT let me just tell you – if you wear a lot of solids, basics, neutrals, or leopard print – a red shoe is just the pop your outfit needs without having to try at all! If I haven’t convinced you on the red yet, just hear me out – think about all the holidays throughout the year- okay, I’m going to name a few where red plays a big role – Valentine’s Day, Fourth of July, Christmas – I wear my boots without fail extra around these times. Now, think about what looks good with red… like everything, except let’s avoid green because well, I’m trying to have you look like a Christmas tree, but literally every other color looks pretty with red!
Oh and one last thing, then I’m done – promise! Rain boots are just darn practical – like so practical, especially in Georgia this year! Gosh, I feel like this past year and so far in 2020 – the rain just does.not.stop. Bottom line: Rain boots = a closet essential. Linking several red rain boot options for different budgets – I do have to say though that I have had my Hunter Boots for over 5 years and they still look nearly new & they are extremely comfy, slightly heavy, but very comfy- worth the investment IMO.
